Setting up
Hi dear readers, it's been a long time!
I was pretty busy in the past two weeks, and some things required all my attention, as you will learn.
It recently comes to my ears that some people read this blog. It kills somehow the impression of talking alone to the internet, and really enjoys me. I hope you find this interesting, or at least informative.
My job is great
Everything is in the title.
I spent a lot of time reading about companies, management, team organisation, agility, entrepreneurship, employees development, and so on, to have a pretty precise idea of what I am expecting from a company, a team, and generally how I define a « good » work environment. To keep it concise :
- my colleagues have very high technical skills
- company culture is oriented toward growth and learning
- we have time to explore and experiment
- we share our thoughts and our practices
Furthermore, people are nice and there is a « social club » : some employees organize events out of the office.
Last but not least, every Tuesday is « Cake Day » : someone is appointed to make and bring a cake which is shared in the office.
Flat
Sunday, 8th of February, I had to leave the flat I was in since the 23rd of December. Because of several factors (unable to anticipate the fact that I was going to find a job for example), I had to look for another place to live at the last moment. Unfortunately, with all the students coming back and the lack of time due to my new position, I struggled to find something until the 7th.
Yes, the day before. I really feared to be homeless, or at least forced to go to the hotel for a few days, with all my stuff nearly impossible to transport alone.
Again, this room is only temporary, I will have to move between the 24th and the 28th of this month, so it let me three weeks to find something where I should be able to stay permanently. Hope this will be easier now.
